This article is basically about how if you are writing a paper and you are not into the story your writing about and trying too hard to follow the structure of writhing, then it is not going to come out good at all. In order for your writing to come out good you need to get “ the feeling” which is the ambition to write something. Or else “recursiveness” will happen and that is (the act of moving forward with the act of moving backwards). Meaning if you are stuck you are talking about something that you have already wrote in your essay. And this always happens when you have no idea what else to write. And it also talks about “retrospective structuring” and this is the ability to ask “what is wrong with my work? What do I need to make this better?” from what I read skilled writers or amateur writers experience this just at different levels. And it also talks about “projective structuring” or writing what you wand but in a way you think the people want to read it and not how you really want to say it. This is very common in unskilled writers and some skilled writers also.
Q&R
What is “projective structuring” about? What are some of the common evaluative criteria for an intelligible piece of writing? What else (besides the above criteria), in your opinion, is needed for a reader to really understand a piece of writing?
To me the term productive structuring means that you are trying to write down what you really want to say but changing it in a way that everybody can understand or relate to. For example if you are writing an article for a newspaper and a horrible accident happens, well you can’t just tell the story the way it is you have to tell the story in a not so violent way but still get your information across. And in order for it to be an intelligible piece of writing I think It needs to have simple words nothing to complicated, and to be said in a way that somebody can relate to and imagine what’s going on like if they are writing about somebody winning the lottery I want to imagine the expression and excitement in the person who won and I would want to know how the crowd is when they are handing him or her the big check. And in my opinion for a reader to understand the writing it has to be short because no matter how interesting it might be some people might not like to read and they will not be interested in the article past a certain point.
