Summary
The article is talking about the study, which was done by Anne. Research was based on 20 teachers who were writing essay. The purpose of the study is to find basic patterns which seem to occur during composition, especially focus on the habit of the writers to move back and repeat actions. In order to answer these questions we need to look at the process of writing. There are three basic concepts that appeals after the research. First, in the process of writing we can find backward movement, so people have tendency to reread little bits of discourse. Second, key words called up several times. There is also the special move inside the writer which called felt sense. The topic of the essay evokes a felt sense in writer. The process of using what is sensed directly about a topic is a natural ability. The felt sense allows us to say or write what we have never said before. It provides us with the experience of “newness” or “freshness”, even if we are using old words.
Later in the article, author looks at the process of writing. It starts with paying attention to the subject. We take the topic and ask questions about it. What we pay attention on? As we get the sense, we match the words to describe it. If the process goes fast than the topic is very interesting for us and we begin to move along with the topic. Then we reread the essay again and again. By rereading we realize how far we went off the idea. We decide what ideas are right, which ideas are wrong for our essay.
The Author describes recursiveness as a "foward moving action that exists by virtue of a backwatd moving action" To what do writers move back? What is being repeated?
"A forward- moving action that exists by virtue of a backward- moving action" means that after you read that you wrote earlier you can move forward and continue you thoughts based on what you started with or in other words by looking on what you wrote before, you can have that idea till you finish the essay or any /other paper work. It is very important that you stay focused and write only about what you were asked on and not to write about other stuff. The writers move back because they analyze what they wrote and by going back they can either makes some changes or they can get idea on what to continue to write. For example when I write an essay or some kind of paper I get stuck sometimes and I can’t think of anything to write than what I do is I go back and read what I wrote before so I get sense of what to write. After I got the idea on what to continue to write it became easier for me to get going on the topic. Sometimes the writer go back to correct the mistakes and by going back and reading the text couple times the writer can see his mistakes. It is really helpful because I experienced that many times and when you go back and read what you wrote couple times you see mistakes that you didn’t see before, for example there might be mistakes like: missing words, wrong spelling, unfinished sentences, and these kind of mistakes only happens when the writer in a hurry because of the inspiration and a lot of ideas in his head. We all know how it feels when you are inspired and when you have lots of ideas in your head. What I do usually in this situation is I write really fast in order not to forget the ideas that came up on my mind and of course when you are in a hurry you make some general mistakes. That’s why it is very important to go back and reread what you wrote so you can see the mistakes and correct them. I would definitely say that it’s very helpful and useful strategy to use.
You answered your question very well, you need to improve on your grammar. Also, some of your sentences do not really make sense so try rereading it and correcting a few sentences.
