Summary:
Anne along with a group of twenty teachers were given the topic “My Most Anxious Moment as a Writer.” They were to be free from distractions and in a very comfortable environment. This was to be the hardest assignment for them being that concentrating on the topic at hand was very difficult. The basic patterns during composing seem to be the same with all writers. All writers seem to write in the same exact steps keeping the process moving forward. There are many different ways that writers use to compose a story. The most usual way is repetition also known as recursiveness. Most writers use the following recursive elements to tell their story. The most visible one is re reading every now and then what they had previously written. The second recurring feature is when writers consistently are changing the topic to suit their notion of the story. In other words to make it more interesting. The third is the hardest to identify, it is called “felt sense” which is when the writer puts his feelings down on paper. It is very important for the writer to have a sense of the people who are reading his/her story in order to keep the readers interested in his/her work.
Question:
Can Learning How To Work With Felt Sense Teach Us About creativity and Release Us From Repetitive Patterns?
Response:
"Felt sense" isnt exactly learned its more like known. The reason for that is because it's mainly our expressed feelings. Although it does show us that we can create knew feelings, towards a certain topic or memory. We tend to express ourselves by recursiving everything we write. A writers way to continue repeating themselves is by using keywords that help them continue the process of composing. Our creativity is shown by the emotions felt while experiencing the event pertaining the topic. "Felt sense" helps us learn how to put our feelings in words. As it states on the article "the process allows us to say or write what we've never said before, to create something new and fresh...when "old words" or images are used" In my own words, "Felt Sense" is our inner feelings and thoughts. Making us tell the story in our point of view. Even without intending to use "Felt Sense" it automatically kicks in to tell us that we've gone through what the topic is about. By learning how to use our "Felt Sense", our memories might come to mind a bit faster and help us when we try to retrieve them. Repetitive patterns are because sometimes we run out of things to say while writing. Which is why we need to retrieve memories faster. So when learning how to use "Felt Sense" we wouldn't run our of things to say when writing, we just continue.
The summary was a good summary although you needed to show more of the article and you only showed just the very begging. For the question your response needed to show a bit more of an explaination.
