Revision Strategies of Student Writers and Experienced Adult Writers
S.
Nancy Sommers explains the contrasts between experienced adult writers and student writers. After a study she preformed, she noticed that the inexperienced writers focused more on the original draft then on the revised draft. The reason she noticed this was due to the repetition of words from first draft. On the other hand, the experienced writers were on point with their revision strategies and keeping their paper organized and well kept.
“ My first draft is usually very scattered. In rewriting, I find the line of argument. After the argument is resolved, I am much more interested in word choice and phrasing.” (pg. 348 rewritting)
She states that the students struggle to bring their essay into congruence with a predefined meaning while the experienced writers do the opposite, they seek to discover. (pg. 386)
Q.
“If the students feel inspired, if the writing comes easily, and if they don't get stuck on individual words or phrases, then they say that they cannot see any reason to revise” (382).

When I feel inspired, I refer to it as being “In the Zone” because you feel like u have the whole paper written inside your head. To tell you the truth in order for me to be “in the zone” I either have to be in a good mood or be listening to some music that would help concentrate. Most writers have to be in complete silence but I put in some head phones and let my hand do the work. I may think I don’t have to revise it but I always go back and double check on grammar and punctuation, just to make sure. There is no such thing as a perfect essay, there will always be something to be rewritten or make a change somewhere.
the response was good but u need to make it longer and with more detail
