Summary:
Sondra Perl’s document describes the different form of writing that are commonly used by all writers around the world. Every writer has their own unique style to express the ideas that come to their minds as they try to transfer them to the word processor or a piece of paper. Every mind is different but when it comes to process the thoughts into writing, several forms are known to be used by most writers.
One of the points mentioned is the recursive process. This means that the writer goes back to read what has been written after a sentence or paragraph and determines if the words and messages are satisfactory to his or her standards. The writer might read the sentences written as an outside reader, and determine if they like what they read. They might read as finished document and go back to add or modify a sentence to make the document better. This recursive process can vary depending on the writer, the topics, and the writer’s interest on the topics. Writers can write anything for a grade, or because they have to , but if they have an interest on the subject they can state their points without much effort and without using this recursive process as much. Even if the points are wrong, the more the writer’s interest on a subject, the more fluent the writing process will be. This can be part of Pearl’s description on the Felt Sense method, which implies the use of our conscience as we write. Our interest on a subject can make us have an idea of what we want to write and how we want to express it before we begin to put the words on a document. The main point is to write what we think in our own words and exercise the writing process to become better at it.
Question:
Explain “felt sense” in your own words. How do you relate the description of “felt sense” in the reading with you own experience? How do you “see” your “felt sense”?
Response:
The felt sense is always with us we can used as a tool when we write, because we can write what we feel and our thoughts but as we have many emotions as we write it can go to another way of our topic so we have to go back and see what we wrote. When a topic is assigned its easier for the writer to look back at past experiences that can make it easier to express his emotions and feelings in writing. Many writers use this method and when they look back to what they read they see images and star to feel emotions and they begin to think as an outsider reader to see if what they wrote make interest to the people who is going to read it.
In your summary, i like how you cover pretty much everything in a brave way. And your answer i like it, but at the end when you mention: an they begin to think as an outsider reader... and so on, isn't that projective structuring?...
